Cornelia Wearable Art: ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates; CORNELIA BACIU is a Romanian Mixed Media Artist and Wearable Art Designer born in Bucharest in 1979, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philology Foreign Languages and Translation - living and working in Abu Dhabi since 2008. The purpose of her artwork is to show that even though people are used to see art only in museums or art galleries it can be brought to life in a different way - reinventing and reinterpreting it in original and distinctive sculptural constructions of mixed media wearable art. She creates exclusive designs for those who appreciate art and exquisiteness, for the person that wants to escape from the ordinary and make a statement. Fascinated and inspired by art history she creates courageous and daring pieces expressing the character of the person who wears them and their love for art and culture. Each piece is one of a kind, scrupulously hand sculpted and hand painted and cannot be exactly reproduced. It is meant for a person who wants to be unique and to be able to say “nobody else has what I am wearing”, a person who has the confidence and boldness to wear a piece of art.
